It was a fun filled day full of cameras, contra dancing (more on that in a minute) and love. Ruth and Stephen were married at Ferndale Free Methodist Church, the church I (Laurie) grew up in. They had it decorated so beautifully I hardly recognized it! Overflowing with pink peonies and a soft colored ribbon archway, the sanctuary couldn’t have been more perfect. The reception was just as exceptional with her simple, elegant cake and vases full of hasta leaves and white and pink peonies. Ruth and her dad surprised everyone when they busted out some mad dance moves during their first dance! Another neat thing about her reception was the contra dancing. ‘What is contra dancing?’ you are probably asking…I refer to it as old school line dancing. It is the kind of dancing they did in Pride and Prejudice and every other Jane Austen movie or book. Ruth is a big time Jane Austen lover so it was absolutely perfect that they added that into their day. Plus EVERYONE was out on the dance floor shuffling their little booties between the lines. It was a hit with all ages! We enjoyed every single minute we got to spend with you guys and getting to know Stephen’s sweet family. Love you both!
