When I unzipped the garment bag and pulled out her very full, very detailed, delicate lace dress, I knew Curtis was going to melt when he saw JoRae walk down the aisle. JoRae was radiant, grinning from ear to ear as she sashayed to the middle of the church and waited for Curtis to turn around and see her for the first time all day. When Curtis turned around, her beauty took his breath away as tears of pride and joy welled up in his eyes.

During the ceremony, JoRae and Curtis recited their own vows. There wasn’t a dry eye in the church as they tearfully (with a few adorable voice cracks by Curtis) pronounced their love and commitment to one another.

We loved every minute we got to spend with you guys during the entire wedding process! It doesn’t get much better than getting to be a part of such an important day in the lives of a couple so dear to our hearts. What a beautiful day. Love you guys!

You may remember Lilly from her newborn session not so long ago. When I was trying to think of what I wanted to do with Ms. Lilly for her photos this time, I was brainstorming for a 1 month old….luckily, the morning of the shoot I did the math and realized she is THREE MONTHS OLD! Holy cow!!

We had fun acting like crazy people with you guys with our puppet shows, squeaky voices and Billy Bob the Bear act even though Lilly was more intrigued by the  giant light. The things you do to make kids laugh!! Thanks for the delicious dinner! Hope to see you and that sweet little girl again soon (before another 3 months disappears!).lissa6

A couple near and dear to my heart, Erica and Patrick. I (Laurie) have known Erica since she was just a little girl…though she’s much taller and knows more about life, her smile and hugs remain the same. When we first met Patrick at one of the Little family’s massive Sunday cookouts years ago, we instantly knew one thing, it was obvious by the way Erica lit up when he walked into the room that it was this was it, this was her forever. It’s only fitting that we photographed their engagement photos at that same farm we first saw them together. The views there were endless, the fields were full of life and the laughter was never ending. The way you guys smile at each other makes me so giddy and happy. I feel so special that you chose us to be part of your wedding day! We can’t wait to see you walk down that aisle! Thanks for freezing your little booty’s off with us!

What a bunch of gigglers! Usually we have to bust out dance moves that haven’t been invented yet or make sounds that would make our dogs howl to get kids to laugh in photos. Not these two! They were dancing down the streets of Downtown Franklin hand in hand to the pitter patter of their own little feet. We had fun hanging out with you guys! Let’s do it again soon!!

If themes were in when Will and I were married, this may have been the winner for our wedding (this one and the romantic theme I did a few months back are about tied on the awesomeness factor). If you know us, you know we try to never stay home. We LOVE seeing new places, sipping fine wine and trying the unique culinary specialties of the areas we are visiting. Needless to say, I love this theme.

If you are world travelers (or even state travelers) this could be a really fun theme for you and your guests. Here are a few ideas I thought might be neat for the “traveler” wedding theme idea.

I’m picturing colors either being vintage and neutral or bright enough to match the hot air balloon you and your new husband could exit the wedding in. I don’t know if there is anything more romantic then the thought of taking a sunset tour over the city in a hot air balloon for your first adventure as husband and wife!

No matter what colors you choose to highlight on your wedding day, details for this theme could include old suitcases or boxes with fake (or real) postage on them, telegraphs and old phones, vintage toy airplanes, binoculars, eiffel tower statues, globes and maps.

You could design your wedding program to look something like a passport.

Use paper airplanes or fake boarding passes as your table assignment cards.

Have guests leave their greetings on old looking postcards. They can even take a polaroid of themselves to attach to the postcard before putting it in an old suitcase for you to look at later.

Favors my be mini chocolate airplanes, hot air balloon cupcakes or something else unexpected tucked away in a tiny box with a map or stamp on it.

The possibilities are really exciting! Most of all, add your very own personal thoughts on traveling and have fun!
