Zoo animals beware! These two will give you a run for your money on the cute and cuddly factor! I don’t think there was a moment during our shoot (except when we had them bust out some “blue steel” moves) that Stephen wasn’t snuggling up with Ruth making her smile.
Ruth and Stephen met at a bible study a few years ago and there was an instant connection. Ruth tried to convince herself that they were just good friends but Stephen knew better than that! After two years, he decided to ask her on a date and the rest is history. It is very apparent by the way they look into each others eyes and embrace that they are not only deeply in love, but are the best of friends.
We had a fun time exploring the zoo with you guys! Can’t wait to see you again in June!
Mama has a joey! It was pretty much the cutest thing ever.
One of Ruth’s favorite movies is Pride and Prejudice (same as me!) so of course we had to throw in some romantic moments from the movie. (below)
These things were HUGE! (I was very close to tucking one under my arm to bring home but Will said no…)

Lake Michigan is incredible. It’s sand dunes, teal water, lighthouses, and boardwalks kept tricking me into calling it the “ocean.” Needless to say, I got much grief from Aunt Lynn and all her friends every time I’d slip up. We camped at Ludington State Park which is a short bike ride (or a hike over a dune) to Lake Michigan. After my tush got used to riding a bike again (I haven’t ridden one in over 16 years…OUCH!), we rode down a sandy road to Big Sable Point Lighthouse. The light was incredible on the beach that night so I couldn’t help snapping a few photos of my cousin Tiffany and her friend Katie. After Ludington we headed to my Papa’s house for some much needed hugs and family time.
I had so much fun meeting all you new Ludington friends! Hope to see you again same time next year!
We floated down this river on tubes. The water was crystal clear.
Tiff is constantly being sniped when she’s with me.
This was an island the boardwalk hike takes you too. Super cool!
I adore Katie’s freckles!
So easy to make Tiff die laughing. Love it!

Tiffany and I played on Croton Pond in Newaygo last weekend. It was so fun ice skating around the lake taking photos of the blond babe before we turned into popsicles. There was about six inches of snow on the ice and a foot on land. I had a hayday with all that white fluffiness but now am on the search for tall boots because all of the snow went deeper and deeper INTO my shoes each step I took.
Tiff, you are gorgeous and should be a model my friend! I had so much fun taking photos of you.
I recently took a trip up to Michigan to see my best friend and college roommate Marissa (Reese) and her little preggy belly. This will be her second baby boy but it was the first time I was able to see her with her cute pregnant tummy. It was a very special trip for me. Needless to say, I went a little crazy snapping photos all weekend. While there, they took me to one of my favorite places when I was a little girl – an apple orchard. The donuts and cider are so fresh and tastey! As of right now, Reese and Steve don’t have a name picked out for baby #2 but Braedyn refers to him as Slash Guitar-ly. I personally think that is a splendid name for a little man. Love you guys. Thanks for a great trip!
Here are a couple pics from the trip.
The deliciousness that is Michigan apple cider!
This is one of my favorites.
