The Garrigan Family | Thompson’s Station, TN

The first big storm since we’ve been in the drought was hovering above us. On one side we had a gorgeous sunset and on the other we had black skies and intense lightening. The Garrigan family came from a few different states to gather together for some family photos. It was fun to stand back and watch everyone enjoy the time they had together. You can tell they are a super close family that love each other incredibly. We had fun playing on the giant hill during the lightening storm with you all! Hope to see you again sometime soon!

Puppy love | Emily, Lizzy & 2 Fur Balls | Spring Hill, TN

Allow yourselves to be submerged in itty bitty dog cuteness. You may recognize everyone in the photos below (fur and no fur) from Lizzy’s wedding last October. Being a photo loving family, the photo session was a birthday present from Lizzy to her sister. We had so much fun cracking up at Coconut and Snowflake as they hopped through the grass like little deer. You’ll see in the photos that there wasn’t really a serious moment for the entire shoot. Emily is actually a model and has been in tons of stuff including…prepare yourselves ladies….the Justin Bieber Mistletoe video. So me being me, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to photograph a beautiful lady in beautiful golden sunlight and we had a mini supermodel session. I threw some of those on here for you too just because she is too pretty not to share (Doesn’t she look like a pretty version of the girl from Twilight?). I had so much fun hanging out with you guys (obviously since I kept shooting and shooting…AND shooting). :) Let’s do something again soon!

The Kelly Family | Thompson’s Station, TN

We lucked out with our location for this shoot! We totally changed our location at the last second thinking that little Norah would get lost in the tall grass we had planned on photographing her in. When we pulled up to our backup location it was completely covered from end to end in yellow flowers…a complete surprise to us that worked out perfectly with Amy’s gorgeous red hair (yes, it was seriously that perfect) and the green in their outfits. We had so much fun chasing these two tinys around. Norah has the coolest big brother, always making sure she is upright (she face plants about every 3rd step) and that she has a goldfish cracker in hand. Sullivan chased her through the flowers, traipsed a trail through bamboo like a GI Joe and hugged on everyone at the shoot at least once. Such a beautiful and fun family.

Nashville Wedding Photographers | Sneak Peek Patrick & Melissa

I thought it would be fun to do a quick preview of Patrick and Melissa’s engagement session from last Sunday. We picked up some VSCO presets a while back and I thought I’d try and run them through on their photos. The idea is to give the photos the look of film, but I’m not sure I’ve quite got it nailed down just yet. What do you think? I guess figuring these things out will be another goal for 2012.

Stay tuned for their full blog post with photos from the Nashville Farmers Market and other fun areas around Nashville. (I’m pretty sure you won’t want to miss their slick dance moves! :)

If themes were in when Will and I were married, this may have been the winner for our wedding (this one and the romantic theme I did a few months back are about tied on the awesomeness factor). If you know us, you know we try to never stay home. We LOVE seeing new places, sipping fine wine and trying the unique culinary specialties of the areas we are visiting. Needless to say, I love this theme.

If you are world travelers (or even state travelers) this could be a really fun theme for you and your guests. Here are a few ideas I thought might be neat for the “traveler” wedding theme idea.

I’m picturing colors either being vintage and neutral or bright enough to match the hot air balloon you and your new husband could exit the wedding in. I don’t know if there is anything more romantic then the thought of taking a sunset tour over the city in a hot air balloon for your first adventure as husband and wife!

No matter what colors you choose to highlight on your wedding day, details for this theme could include old suitcases or boxes with fake (or real) postage on them, telegraphs and old phones, vintage toy airplanes, binoculars, eiffel tower statues, globes and maps.

You could design your wedding program to look something like a passport.

Use paper airplanes or fake boarding passes as your table assignment cards.

Have guests leave their greetings on old looking postcards. They can even take a polaroid of themselves to attach to the postcard before putting it in an old suitcase for you to look at later.

Favors my be mini chocolate airplanes, hot air balloon cupcakes or something else unexpected tucked away in a tiny box with a map or stamp on it.

The possibilities are really exciting! Most of all, add your very own personal thoughts on traveling and have fun!
